CLEANING YOUR PIECES

When the time comes to clean your pieces, there are some quick and easy steps you can take at home to keep everything looking fresh and new. For pieces containing diamonds, rubies, sapphires, or tourmalines, mix together some warm water and unscented dish soap. Then leave your jewelry to soak for a bit, followed by a gentle scrub with a soft bristled toothbrush. Dirt, oil and other debris most commonly gets trapped on the underside of the setting so be sure to give the whole thing a good brushing. Be mindful not to scrub too vigorously as you could scratch the stone, or compromise the integrity of the setting. Rinse with clean water, dry, and enjoy!

Soft gemstones such as emeralds, pearls, and opals need extra care - gently wipe them down with a clean and dry microfiber cloth.

Reach out when in doubt of general maintenance or how to clean a piece. If you visit one of our locations we would be happy to give any of your pieces a spa day to professionally deep clean them while you shop.

BATHTIME

Jewelry should be removed before bathing and showering, and before applying lotions, fragrances, self tanner, hair dye, or any other cosmetic products that may contain oils or chemicals.

Home maintenance

Similarly, do not expose your jewelry to chemicals or harsh solutions such as those found in home cleaning products.

under the sea

It is always a good idea to remove your jewelry before a swim, whether in salt water, fresh water, or a chlorinated pool. This helps make sure the metal and/or stones won’t interact with the type of water you are in, and eliminates any possibility of your pieces slipping off.

AT THE GYM

Remove and carefully store your pieces before strenuous activities, which includes the gym - but also lifting heavy objects.

BEDTIME

When it comes to bedtime, less is more - especially when your jewelry is involved. This will help avoid pieces tangling together, slipping off while you sleep, or getting stuck if your fingers tend to swell overnight.

Storage

When storing your pieces, separate them so they do not rub together and scratch one another. Necklaces should be clasped when stored to prevent tangling. Our Luxe Leather Jewelry Case is a great option for storage!
